Acer to Announce Chrome OS ‘Devices’ in 2 Weeks!
Updated Story: here
Well folks…it has finally been leaked; news is out that the first Chrome OS ‘devices’ (note the plural) will be officially announced in 2 weeks!
According to a report by VentureBeat (published Thursday), Acer is already polishing off it’s Chrome OS netbook in time for Computex (June 1 – 5). VentureBeat is quoted as saying:
We’ve learned from multiple sources that the Taiwanese computer manufacturer Acer will launch Chrome OS devices at the Computex Taipei show, which will be held from June 1 to June 5.
This all comes in time for the second largest tech show on the calender and is conveniently placed just after Google’s I/O event ( to be held from May 19) where we expect Google to announce the completion of it’s newest pet project; Chrome OS!
This all comes as exciting news. It has been a year of anticipation and finally the operating system that is set to change the way we use our computers is just on the horizon. News is still breaking, so make sure you stay tuned as we’ll try to bring you the details as they emerge.
We are keen to hear your opinions; if you are as excitied as we are about Acer’s impending announcement, come meet us in the forums.
