Verizon And Google Preparing A Chrome OS Device?
In a recent news leak reported today by Techcrunch; it has been revealed that the American mobile phone career, Verizon may be working with Google on a Chrome OS powered device.
As shown in the pictures, many referances to Verizon wireless (VZW) have been spotted on the Google Code pages. These referances not only prove that Chrome OS devices will be 3G capable but it further suggests that one of the careers for these new devices will be Veriozon wireless.

IntoMobile explains more;
The code pages reveal that Google has been working on embedding support for wireless connectivity within Chrome OS. Most recently, the project has focused on the UI components for 3G connectivity and the management of the 3G mobile broadband account. While portions of the underlying code for the 3G connectivity make passing references to CDMA and even WiMAX, these latest project updates directly reference Verizon Wireless.
Indeed this does not come as a major surprise as we already know that Verizon and Google have been cozying up for the last few years. Verizon Wireless is one of the major mobile phone careers which is spearheading the sale of Android powered phones in the USA. It makes sense that Google seems to have chosen Verizon as a strategic partner for Chrome OS.
Further deducing this news also highlights the possibility of mobile phone careers offering 3G enabled Chrome OS netbooks on ‘contracts’; in much the same way as the 3G version of the Apple Ipad.
Even so, it is still a matter of speculation as to when Chrome OS will be released but today’s news comes as a welcome hint on the continuing developments in the Google Dev channels.
