Ipad Hacked To Run Chromium OS?

Ipad Hacked To Run Chromium OS?

Today Hexxeh tweeted a picture which seemed to display Apple’s Ipad running Chromium OS. More opportunistic bloggers (Kat Hannaford from Gizmodo) quickly turned the tweet into an over sensationalized story about how Hexxeh had possibly ported Chromium OS onto Apple’s star product.

Hexxeh’s tweet read:

you have my official permission to go crazy now icon biggrin Ipad Hacked To Run Chromium OS? (don’t worry I’ll dash your hopes later, there are a few catches)

This tweet was accompanied by the image of an Apple Ipad as shown below:

Unfortunately for Gizmodo, this story hasn’t got everyone talking as one would assume they originally intended. At most it is more likely that Hexxeh was running Chromium OS virtually on his Macbook (or PC) while using his Ipad as a monitor. This is already possible using remote desktop app. One can even use windows 7 and watch a movie remotely using an Ipad. But the key here is that the Ipad itself is not running Windows 7 or Chromium OS natively; but remotely.

I’m sorry to burst your bubble guys, but without even consulting Hexxeh on the issue; I can already confirm that Gizmodo’s story was all hot air.
