Best Google PR Blunders This Year
Google’s success in the technology market is a story not to be told, quite simply because everyone knows about it. Google has grown to become the most used search engine (and website) on the planet and over the last 10 years it’s reach has proliferated throughout the web. Such websites as YouTube and products such as Gmail have become indistinguishable to our daily life on the net; some people worry about this…Oh, and if you are wondering what all the fuss is about check this cheeky video out…it was done a while ago but it still puts the message across.
How about taking a quick look at the fumiest, most unsettling and most stupendous stories related to good old Google this year.
Google is watching you
A debate has been raging for quite some time as to how Google’s increasing dominance on the web will affect us all. After-all we give many terabytes of information to that company each day. Eric Schmidt (Google’s CEO) recently revealed that 35 hours of video is now being uploaded to YouTube every minute; that is just one of the websites in Google extensive empire.

Recent PR blunders by Google have not helped it over the last few years. As I am sure many of you already know, the company has been involved in a number of battles with Governments around the world regarding it’s ‘street-view project’. It was argued that Google downloaded private information such as email and passwords as they drove by unsuspecting households.
How about a few nude pics of you?
Of-course the downloading of private data was not the only scandal to hit the blogosphere. How about naked pictures of little kids in their back gardens..or even more ridiculous (and more recent);a naked men inside the boot of his car (caught by a street-view car):

To be fair to Google it is not exactly an invasion of privacy if someone decides to strip tease a Google Street-view Car. Even so, there has been enough uproar in Germany that has stopped Google from publishing it’s street-view pictures willy nilly.

‘Incognito Mode’ isn’t as secure as you thought
Another blunder is the recent discovery that incognito mode in Google Chrome Browser is actually not all that private. Google has touted it’s Chrome Browser as one of the most secure of all but a few days ago, a clever dude somewhere seemed to prove Google wrong. It turns out that by using a certain security loophole, he was able to doanload the email addresses of anyone who visited his site even though they were in Incognito mode. The website would then send you a message like the one below…just to let you know they hacked you!

Users' email addresses were not revealed at all. This was not Google Chrome's fault that the attacker could send emails to people. It was a bug in Google Apps Script, not Google Chrome.
Correct. I hate it when authors relate two different subjects.
Incognito is for private browsing on your computer, meaning that you can shop for a present for your wife and not get caught by looking at the history page, or opening the last sessionclosed tabs.
It was not a problem with Google Chrome, every other browser would behave the same, private browsing or not.
Pros: I have mixed feelings about this lopatp. On the Pro side it is very light (too light in my opinion, the plastic looks and feels cheap), very quiet, very cool, and the build quality is high. The LED screen is superior to my old lopatp with a standard backlit screen. The keyboard is very nice and I like the feel of the keys.On the performance side, this machine is very fast and rates equal to or better than all the other Core i3 systems I browsed at a retail store before ordering this one from Newegg. I am still shocked that Intel has actually built a respectable graphics chip into the Core i series. It is adequate to all but dedicated gaming. This is my first non-AMD lopatp in quite a while, primarily because the ATI graphics on AMD systems are typically much better than the integrated Intel graphics. Cons: On the Con side I have quite a few complaints and concerns. First, I hate the silver surfaces on this lopatp. They don’t look like the pictures. The cover and wrist rest are very bright and reflective and show every fingerprint. I’m not a stickler for the fingerprint issue as many are but on this is insane. The glossy surface looks and feels cheap. In fact you can push in on the cover, it does not feel rigid at all.While build quality is high I feel that the materials used look and feel cheap (pretty much all plastic case) and I am concerned they will not hold up to abuse. Honestly I would be very happy if it were not for the plastic casing. Because of this I would return it if I could. Other Thoughts: I had the same issue as Nate below with Windows 7 SP1. I fixed the issue by downloading the latest Intel Graphics driver package from the Intel site and uninstalling the current driver, rebooting, and then installing the new driver. After doing this I was able to get SP1 from Windows Update and install it successfully. I have seen no lockups or performance problems.As others mentioned besides some games and security software there is very little bloatware to uninstall.
