Google CR-48 Chrome Notebook – Full Hardware Specs
One of the users (Brad Caris) in our Chrome OS forums who was lucky enough to receive a CR-48 Chrome Notebook has shared with us what he believes are the full specifications of the device. How does he know? Well, he took the device apart of course, piece by piece! Hopefully the below information will rest a lot of debates and speculation as to what Chrome Notebook is actually made up of!
Processor: Intel Atom Processor N455 1.66GHz 512K Cache
Chipset: Intel CG82NM10 PCH
Motherboard: Tripod Motherboard MARIO – 6050A240910 – MB – A03
Ram: Hynix 2GB DDR3 1Rx8 PC3 – 10600S Ram
Read Only Memory: ITE IT8500E Flash ROMSSD Drive: SanDisk sdsa4dh-016G 16GB SATA SSD

3g Adapter: AzureWave 802.11 a/b/g/n PCI-E Half MiniCard

The above specifications are likely the kinds of specs we should be expecting when Chrome OS powered devices start making their debut some time next year. IT is also very likely that we will begin to see demo’s of such devices during CES in January.

I have a CR-48 and found my Kill-A-Watt registered the power adapter drawing 19 watts, at standard 120 volt US power.

Thanks for this article. I also got a CR-48 and was wondering what was inside! Now I know. I reported an issue to them to document it in the Help Center, so hopefully they will.
Great article. Google gave me one for Christmas and I wondered why I didn't hear the whir of the HDD. Nice…
