Latest from the Lab: +1

Google has recently added another feature to their optional labs, +1, for websites and advertisements in their search results. It works like the ‘Like’ button for Facebook by pulling in information that you and/or your friends might find useful based on other +1s. Google hopes the added feature will result in better search results for users. The +1 feature has been hinted at possibly showing up in “other Google products and sites across the web” so there is definitely a movement behind the +1 feature[1].
The +1 feature will have an immediate impact on advertisers on Google as the feature is not optional and all ads will receive the button but the +1 does not count as an ad click and there will be statistics gathered to view for advertisers to track how they are performing.
