Over the last few months there has been a resurgent interest in Google’s Android OS. It’s no secret that this interest hasn’t only stemmed from booming Android phone sales; the emerging tablet market seems to have stocked the fires. Excitement about Android’s prospects reached a climax when the blogosphere began to push for the abortion of Chrome OS.
There have long been rumours regarding the possibility of Google releasing a Chrome OS powered tablet device. These rumours have arguably been spurred on by leaked tablet mock-ups and more so, wishful thinking; buoyed by an emerging tablet craze.
An unnamed source has confirmed to Download Squad that Google is indeed working on a Chrome OS tablet. According to the leak, Google has been working alongside HTC to produce the device for the last few months. This comes at no surprise as Google has previously worked closely with HTC on it’s Nexus One phone.
