Samsung/Acer Chrome Notebooks – Full Pricing List

Yesterday Engadget released a more complete list of the pricing details for the Samsung Series 5 and the Acer Chromebook devices in their various flavours. Each device comes in either wi-fi only or 3g and wi-fi versions. The Samsung Series 5 will come in two colours; white and black.

Google has unveiled their newly revamped Google Docs Web App for mobile devices. The revision brings real time collaborative editing of documents to Android and IOS powered devices (and other mobile platforms) for the first time. Is Google’s Chrome OS just Vapourware? This is the question that a work colleague posed to me a few days ago. I have to admit that I couldn’t give him a straight answer because Google’s conduct over the last year seems to suggest that Chrome OS is indeed ‘vapourware’. On the other hand, who would entertain the thought that almighty Google could do such a thing? Isn’t vapourware a preserve for tiny companies attempting to get headlines on the ‘Mashables’ of the internet?
8 Comments Many Frustrated As Chrome OS Slips Deadline
Yesterday during a Web 2.0 conference Eric Schmidt revealed that Google is planning on releasing Chrome OS in the “next few months”. This was after a question that was raised by an Engadget employee. If Schmidt is to be taken verbatim, this means that Chrome OS will be released next year and we will probably see Chrome OS devices soon after.

Google has been working on Nexus two alongside it’s partner, Samsung for the last few months. This has been revealed by a number of leaks in the last few weeks. It is even claimed that this successor to the Nexus One will be released in a couple of weeks if not days. Over the last few months we’ve had rumours and leaks about the possible release of Chrome OS tablets and netbooks. It’s not too long ago since the last rumour which claimed that a Chrome OS device (by Acer) would be showcased at Computex in Taipei (2010); nothing came of that. Murmurings about a potential Chrome OS tablet were also quashed by Google earlier on this year. They went as far as saying that they had no short term plans of releasing such a device at all.
